The colours (grey, brown, beige and black) are as muted as the events are insignificant. It seems to be about a domestic interior, but each point of recognition disintegrates with the changing of light. Does an arm gently open a door and the shadow play a part in this game of shifting nuances of colour? Presented to the eye are simply vertical threads which inn a slow but movement cover and uncover each other.

"Color Pieces was made in Berlin in 1980. During this period I began experiments with reflections; the subtle changes in color as the forms move; and the illusion to perspective. The tape is without sound as I prefered the quietness together with the gradual changes in the piece." - Nan Hoover
