Involved in her people Pola Weiss paints the Mexican people sensitively. As she makes the camera share in her impulsiveness, black/white and colour, sharp and blurred and all kinds of angles succeed each other. Her effusive character is mirrored in the rhythmically melting of synthetic colour patterns that link the scenes.
Santa Cruz is about a folkloristic feast on the square in front of the church, high in the mountains. Both beautiful young people and fine, wrinkly old ones, all splendidly dressed, participate in this festivity.
