'Out of Reach' documents a trip along the Tokaido railway from Tokyo to Kyoto. The work belongs to the 'From the Personal Observatory' series. Images shot from a train window are combined with reworked images from other locations and other pespectives. At certain points, these images are shown to be presented on a video monitor. A parrallel seems to be drawn between the indirectness of the images and the inwardness of Japanese culture.
