6 Videokizzen is a compilation of six different videos from the Videogenossenschaft Basel from 1985. The Videogenossenschaft Basel was founded in 1979 as the predecessor of point de vue. The video starts with the image of what seems to be a round shaped stone against a dark green background. Hand drawn animations of black abstract shapes float by on the top and bottom. In the second part a female voice can be heard that counts from 1 to 6 in French. With each count, the image jumps to the next image. The third video shows a stone sculpture that starts to spin. The video of the spinning stone is processed with different techniques so that it looks like you are looking at the sculpture through a window. Video four consists of video recordings of leaves, accomp
nied by French words and sound in the background. The fifth part starts with the image of a vase, slowly the contours of the vase become blurred and a dancing woman steps into the foreground. This video is accompanied by the sound of a heartbeat. The last part is a playful combination of visuals and language and consists of successive images of drawings in colored ink / marker, with a humming woman in the background. Anna Winteler has been one of the leading Swiss video and performance artists since the early 1980s. Read more...
