Jeroen Kooijmans (1967), winner of the 'Dutch NPS Cultuurprijs 1998', is fascinated by 'the ordinary', and makes video installations which are characterized by a strong image language, accessibility, and a surprisingly simple set-up. His forte lies in assessing the value of the myriad possibilities that the audio visual media offer him, and utilizing them potentially without losing himself in the, often seductive, pyrotechnics.
