The installation 'Count on Us' includes five videos: 'Count on Us: Star', 'Count on Us: Boy', 'Count on Us: Girl', 'Count on Us: Chorus' and 'Count on Us: Tesla Electricity', all projected in one room. 'Count on Us: Star' depicts an aerial view of Abramovic, lying on the ground and wearing black clothes, with a skeleton on her top. After a while, a of group children (also dressed in black) enter the frame, coming from all sides, as they are sitting down in the shape of a five-pointed star enclosing the artist. A little later, they stand up again and leave the scenery. This action then repeats itself identically. 'Count on Us: Boy' shows a boy in front of a bright red curtain, who, from while to while, starts to sing a poetic folk song about love, loss and lon…ing. 'Count on Us: Girl' is nearly the same, but involves a girl instead of a boy. 'Count on Us: Chorus' shows a children's choir singing a song about the United Nations, conducted by Abramovic, who is wearing a skeleton costume. In the last part, 'Count on Us: Tesla Electricity', Abramovic holds a so-called 'Tesla-coil' in her hand, through which, at certain moments, a flash of 35000 volt of electricity enters her body, which functions as transmitter. Being highly associative in terms of its content, the installation 'Count on Us' refers to various issues that could be placed in a concrete political context, as for example the Kosovo war. According to Abramovic, the work is mostly to be considered an emotional response to political events, which indicates that she somehow tries to avoid narrativization, despite the rich symbolic vocabulary of this work.
