In this piece, Cardena looks at the Dutch landscape: the sea, the land, the cities and the people. He shows us, in short, the elements with which he works; white cloud formations against a gray sky, undulations in a wind-swept sea, endless flat land, rivers, canals, streets, houses and busy people in noisy shopping districts. He then mixes these elements, using effects like split screen, overlays, negatives, mirroring and others to produce abstract shapes and shadows, and thus attempting to provide an interpretation of the landscape of the Netherlands.
