In 1980, Nan Hoover was awarded a coveted artist-in-residence grant by the Deutscher
Akademischer Austauschdienst Dienst (DAAD). Under this grant she worked for a period of
one year (June 1980) in her studio in Bundesallee where she created the performance and
video Projections. In the late afternoon, in her studio in Berlin, the sun projected the
reflections from passing cars as well as people passing by her window. She observed the
light and reflections and recorded the image and sound (this performance was presented in
October 23 and 24, 1980 at the Künstlerhaus E 43, Berlin-Wedding). The sound is the actual
sound as it occurred. At the end of the video, like a female Hitchcock, the artist walks
