In this very short video piece, a voice on the radio says in Dutch: 'Does the artist have to..?' The sentence is interrupted in the middle. A plastic head of a male, blond mannequin is filmed 'en profil'. Two hands, holding a piece of rope, move over the model's head, a fraction before the video stops. This work deals with questions about the expectations and responsibilities of an artist. The mannequin's head recalls classical ideas of beauty, figurative art and sculpture, creating even more tension around the duties of an artist as a creator.
