Anecdotal tape consisting of four works which are announced by the title of the accompanying music. Their common characteristic is that all four pieces are about ill-fated love affairs. The intimate conversations taking place are supported by images. When, in This nearly was mine, the topic of conversation is an encounter between a man and a woman in the shoe department of De Bijenkorf, we can see images of black high-heel sandals. You are so beautiful is an exception; it does not include a conversation, you just hear the title song. In this work, a woman’s face remains concealed behinda man’s hand, which is held between her and the camera. In We’re only just begun, the break between two lovers is the most final. The earlier works on the tape are about a fleeting encounter between two persons, and about mutual attraction. In the final piece, a relationship already exists.
